Phone, internet out for many Coast homes Local Gold Coast
THOUSANDS of homes in the Gold Coast suburbs of Ashmore and Bundall have been without phone and internet services for over 24 hours after a fibre-optic cable was cut yesterday afternoon. A Telstra spokesperson said tonight that the cable was cut by a `third party’ around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon. Telstra technicians had been working rolling 12-hour shifts ever since in an effort to get the problem fixed. Telstra hoped to have all services restored some time tomorrow.

The first known computer worm written for Apple‘s iPhone currently is infecting iPhones in Australia, swapping out the device’s background image with that of 80s singer Rick Astley.
