It is called high-frequency trading — and it is suddenly one of the most talked-about and mysterious forces in the markets. Robots one step closer to catching us!
Remember the robot Toyota is developing that seemed to be the next step in robots moving similar to humans? Well, they have already been trumped. Boston Dynamics, the company that has introduced the BigDog rough terrain locomotion robot and a robot able to jump 25 feet in the air (VIDEO), have now introduced the Petman. Petman was developed to test military clothing, but since it walks just like a human, it is just another step in making robots that will be able to chase you. At this pace, robots will be able to run at 50 mph at peak efficiency in just a few years.

UK CCTV game – catch criminals, win money!
A new internet game is about to be launched which allows ’super snooper’ players to plug into the nation’s CCTV cameras and report on members of the public committing crimes.
The ‘Internet Eyes’ service involves players scouring thousands of CCTV cameras installed in shops, businesses and town centres across Britain looking for law-breakers.
The Internet Eyes’ website will also feature a rogue’s gallery of the so-called ‘criminals’ along with a list of their offences and which internet user caught them. But civil rights campaigners today condemned the game, which launches in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, next month, and branded it ‘a snoopers paradise’.They claim nosey neighbours could snoop on homeowners putting the wrong rubbish in bins and even motorists guilty of the most minor misdemeanors.
Players who help catch the most criminals each month will win cash prizes up to £1,000.

Bill would give president Obama emergency control of Internet
Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. They’re not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit Obama to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.
