Toyota has decided to recall about 270,000 of its latest-generation Prius cars in Japan and the United States to fix a brake problem in the hybrid car, according to reports this morning. The Japanese carmaker will shortly file with the Japanese transport ministry and the US Department of Transportation for the recall, the Nikkei business newspaper reported.

Toyota Australia says it is investigating reports that some customers have experienced inconsistent brake feel while driving over potholes, slippery surfaces or bumps.
